Ruth is one of the many young woman who is
pushing the boundaries of what once was
considered a male dominated industry, by
completing a diploma of art: fine furniture , in
Dwellingup Western Australia, where she can
pursue her love of art in the form of wood, by
designing, and constructing fine furniture.
In
the future Ruth wants to direct her focus more on
design. She wants to incorporate aspects from
both her art background and fine furniture
background, to create distinct pieces, that are
not only well made using both time honored
construction techniques, and newer more modern
techniques, but above all well designed and
visually appealing pieces that will become the
sought after heirlooms of tomorrow.
